ScholarOne® Hosts Manuscript Central™ User Conference

Charlottesville, VA - June 6, 2006

ScholarOne, Inc., the leading provider of Web-based workflow and management solutions for scholarly publishers is pleased to announce that it successfully hosted its first annual Manuscript Central User Conference April 23-25, 2006, at the Boars Head Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia. Over 150 publishers, editors and administrators representing 100 different journals and publishers from the U.S. and Europe were in attendance. The three day event began Sunday, April 23, with a tour of Monticello, wine tasting at Jefferson Vineyards and an evening welcome reception.

Key members of the ScholarOne staff and representatives from the American Chemical Society, Blackwell Publishing, IEEE, SAGE Publications and Wiley presented at the two day attendee and breakout sessions, explaining core features and advantages of Manuscript Central. The conference covered a host of topics including: Best Practices for the Editorial Office, Rapid Rollout, Product Integration, Enterprise and Journal Level Reporting, Increasing Submissions through Marketing, Future Product Direction, Interactive Dialogue on New Requested Features, and the MC University Certification Program.

"I was most impressed that this conference was not just an opportunity for you to say how great your product was, give some training, and let the CEO types talk at us," said an attendee, "Instead, you were actively seeking feedback…and truly wished to be helpful and improve your product."

"We were very pleased with the User Conference results and feel that we were successful in providing useful information on Manuscript Central to our users." said Bill Carden, ScholarOne president and CEO. "The conference provided an open forum for discussion and feedback and allowed us to spend one-on-one time with our users. ScholarOne will make this an annual event."
